Recording Rent Payments
Recording Payments
You can record rent from two places: the dashboard home quick-action button, or from a property detail pageby tapping "Record Payment" next to a tenant.
The Payment Ledger
Every tenant has a complete payment ledger that records each payment's date, amount, and notes. The ledger automatically calculates cumulative arrears, and you can view any tenant's full payment history at any time.
- Supports partial payments (e.g., tenant pays only half)
- Add notes to describe payment method (e-Transfer, cheque, etc.)
- System automatically flags late payments and arrears amounts
Understanding Arrears
When a tenant hasn't paid by the due date, the system automatically calculates arrears. The amount appears in your dashboard attention items and auto-fills into N4 notices when you generate them.
Tip: Record payments immediately when you receive them. A complete payment record is one of the strongest pieces of evidence at LTB hearings. Don't rely on memory — let the system track it for you.
